A Trust is formed when a person, known as the trustor or settlor, voluntarily transfers ownership of certain assets or property to another person or group called the trustee. The trustee holds and manages these assets for the benefit of specified individuals or a larger community, known as the beneficiaries. Trust Registration in India is governed by two main legal frameworks:

• Private Trusts are regulated under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, which outlines the legal responsibilities and powers of trustees managing private assets.

• Public Trusts, especially those formed for religious or charitable purposes, are governed by respective State Trust Acts, such as the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act or the Rajasthan Public Trusts Act, depending on the location of the trust.

Registering a trust provides it with legal recognition, enhances its credibility, and enables it to receive tax benefits and government grants, ensuring smooth functioning and public trust.
